Week 7 #16

Wikipedia is a very interesting concept. You can use this software without an extensive knowledge of HTML. I wonder about some of the downfalls with vandalis and spam. I really enjoyed the Princeton Public Library sight. I think it gave the audience a wonderful selection of 50-70 different book reviews. I think BCPL should offer this to our customers. One draw back would be it would require a lot of time keeping this website up to date as new books are released.

Week 6 #15

Web 2.0 & the Future of Libaries really made you stop and think. The future libraries will be guided by how users access us. That projects will definately have shorter timelines. More instant messages from their online space. We should strap ourselves in and blast off.

Week 6 #14

Technorati site was different with rolling tags. I especially like the "Celebrity Style Men's Wardrobe". I certainly can't afford that wardrobe on a library salary.

Week 6 #13

Delicious was very interesting and very helpful with all the tags. When I put in the word "grace "as a bookmark the first few rows pertained to grace but the rest of the photos showed different position on shooting a gun. I didn't get the connection.

Week 5 #12

"Rollo" allows you to create your customize search engine using sources you are familiar with. I wish I know about this feature two years ago when I recently had to retrieve a site I only used last year.

Week 5 Number 11

Library Thing website is a wonderful way of recording and commenting of all the books you have read. This would be helpful especially for people who are members of book clubs. Over the years I am sure people would forget what the club has read.

Week 5 Number 10

My favorite generator is the "Chocolate Bar". If only I could have a candy bar named after me.

Week 4: Number 9

"Merlin" was very educational. There is an interesting article under "Library Garden" were they try to come up with a up-to-date word for database. They think database is old and boring but cannot think of a new tready word. They agree databases are search tools or the resources within them. As one person put it, they are the gold in the mine.
